The resort is set in the south of the Rhodope Mountain where, according to the legend, Orpheus, the mythical singer, had lived. Pamporovo has international popularity. It is located at an altitude of 1620 m above the sea level, 85 km from Plovdiv city and 260 km from Sofia.
